SUMMER STYLE | SLIP DRESSES
I am all in the 90s Today. Slip dresses are making major waves this summer. I love the ease of a slip dress : its the perfect little thing to throw on straight from the shower, right out the door and on to your day. And its simplicity makes it so fun to pair with almost anything. Its almost like a blank canvas. You can Carrie Bradshaw it. Or Lauryn Hill it. Kate Moss it. Carolyn Bessette it. Lisa Bonet it. The possibilities are endless. It can go from day to evening with little to no fuss. So here are three ways I styled it for you. Mine is from Victoria's Secret, its still in stores and also available online. But I will also share with you 3 others in stores now that I hope find its way into my closet!
What I love most about this slip dress is how easy it is. Effortless. It's perfect for summer, especially summer nights. I wore it for dinner out in Tulum and loved how it flowed with the breeze. There is something powerful in being undressed dressed.
This look almost screams no hair no makeup-makeup. Something very French about it. Or Zadig et Voltaire with a leather jacket thrown over your shoulders.
I love the lace detailing. It's delicate and feminine. I like the length of this slip dress as I feel it adds a sense of power to the look. And I intentionally went up a size to make it more interesting than overtly sexy. I would recommend this for girls who want to experiment with this look but not look like you are walking around in a nighty. And if anyone says you are walking around in your nightgown tell 'em "It's FASHION sweetie darlin'". I get you! 😋
You know I am a New Yorker so you know I will throw a Yankee's hat on about anything and call it a day. For that Soho/East Village/NYU/Bohemian/Vintage Shopper/Free Spirited Chic this one is for you!
Nothing says cooler than Kate Moss Calvin Klein denim so tying a denim jacket around your waist is a 2016 update of that look. It also is a good way to mix some masculine energy into this look. I opted for a lighter color but a darker denim jean jacket would be cool way to rock this look for an evening out.
I paired it with white sneakers because I am still in love with this white sneakers trend from Spring. It adds freshness to every type of look. And I love a sneaker with a dress - its for the girl who's going places!
Instead of a baseball hat? You can rock a pretty head scarf. Around your head or around your neck. I kept jewelry minimal. Even when changing looks, something didn't feel right about doing too much with this look. "Less is more" is how it goes yeah?
For night a pair of statement heels will do. And I kept my sunnies on because why not? 😋
Night Time is the perfect way to keep this look very feminine. Here is where you can play up hair and makeup and have your Sophia Lauren moment. ENJOY IT!
How brilliant is this color! Talk about making an entrance. And the length is marvelous for evenings.
This print is all types of FUN. What great day slip while on holiday. Love it!
You can never go wrong in black and this a great alternative for the girl who doesn't want to go all out in a slip dress. This lace detailing adds just the right touch.
BIG KISS TO YOU ALL 💜
